The Information Systems department provides technical support for the clerk’s employees within the various operating and administrative departments.  The clerk’s office utilizes the latest hardware, software, and communications technology to support a wide area network of over three hundred workstations.   

The IS department also oversees the development and maintenance of the mortgage and conveyance, civil, criminal, document imaging and other software systems that record and manage the information for which the clerk’s office is responsible.  

The IS department supports the subsystems that provide electronic access and data exchange capabilities for the district attorney, the sheriff, the courts, probation,  and others in the criminal justice system.

IS also supports JeffNet, the clerk’s Internet based subscription service, which has become the clerk’s principal means of providing access to public records to attorneys, abstractors, and other interested parties.
