The marriage license department is responsible for issuing marriage licenses and accepting applications for passports for submission to the U.S. Passport Agency.  The department also files and records notarial bonds and oaths of office. 

Birth & Death Certificates:  The Jefferson Parish Clerk of Court does not provide birth certificate service.  Persons needing birth certificates issued anywhere in the State of Louisiana should visit the East Bank Jefferson Parish Health Unit, 111 North Causeway Blvd., Metairie (504) 219-4500 or the West Bank Jefferson Parish Health Unit, 1855 Ames Blvd., Marrero (504) 349-8802.  For information on death certificates, call (504) 219-4500.  Consult the Bureau's web site for more details:  La.
