Notice of Candidacy (Qualifying Form) →

The Clerk of Court’s office handles qualifying for local elections; regional and statewide offices are handled by the Louisiana Secretary of State. To qualify, candidates must file a Notice of Candidacy (Qualifying Form) with the appropriate qualifying official during the qualifying period, along with the required filing fees.

If an agent files a notice of candidacy on behalf of a candidate, the candidate must also submit an Agent Affidavit Form to the qualifying official, confirming that the agent is authorized to file on their behalf.

Qualifying fee schedules are published by the Louisiana Secretary of State.
