***NOTICE REGARDING WITNESS FEES IN CIVIL CASES***
Pursuant to La. R.S. 13:3661, effective August 1, 2021, “No witness [in a civil case, who resides or who is employed in this state] shall be subpoenaed to attend a trial or hearing unless the party who desires the testimony of the witness has deposited with the clerk of court the estimated attendance fee and travel expenses.” Each such witness is entitled to $50 for each day the witness is required to appear in court, and appropriate travel expenses. Please refer to R.S. 13:3661 for specific details.
