Notice Regarding Fax Filing

Pursuant to Act No. 352 (House Bill No. 310), 2025 Regular Session, fax filings are no longer accepted as of January 1, 2026. All filings filed by an attorney must be submitted in person in paper form or transmitted electronically through a system established by a clerk of court or by the Louisiana Clerks’ Remote Access Authority.

E-filing of civil documents is available through JeffNet, the Clerk of Court’s remote access service, for both members of the Louisiana Bar Association and self-represented litigants. E-filing is not limited to the 24th Judicial District Court — it is also available for First Parish Court and Second Parish Court.

JeffNet accounts are available on a daily or monthly basis, whichever billing arrangement best fits your filing volume.

Getting Started

E-filing is available from the JeffNet sidebar after logging in. Attorneys log in with their Louisiana bar roll number and a separate e-filing password that you create and control; self-represented litigants log in with their JeffNet account credentials. Password security is the sole responsibility of the registered e-filer.

Attorneys may also create separate e-filing subaccounts — at no additional charge — linked to their bar number, so associates or staff can file on the attorney’s behalf under the same account.

Documents must be submitted in unlocked PDF format — the Clerk time-stamps each page before writing it to the image database, so locked PDFs cannot be processed.

How It Works

  • Specify the case, the litigant on whose behalf you are filing, and the filing type
  • For new cases, provide details about the litigants, case type, and number of services
  • The system calculates filing costs, verifies your JeffNet account credit, and prompts you to confirm or cancel
  • Upon acceptance, the filing is immediately date- and time-stamped; new cases are allotted immediately

Sealed documents may not be e-filed.

Autopay

Autopay allows attorneys to designate any 24th JDC, First Parish Court, or Second Parish Court civil case — whether e-filed or not — for automatic payment of charges. When a charge exceeds the available balance, your JeffNet account is debited automatically. Autopay eliminates the need to write checks and reduces courthouse visits. Charge notifications and a month-end summary report are sent to your email address on file.

Availability

JeffNet targets 24/7 availability but may occasionally be offline for maintenance. The Clerk of Court is not responsible for filings missed due to system unavailability — plan accordingly for deadline-sensitive submissions.
