Parking is free. Write your vehicle’s license plate number on your summons and bring it with you — no parking garage account required. Park on level 3 or higher, and avoid reserved spaces.
Need to reschedule or request a permanent exemption?
Reschedule requests are based on your juror history and must be submitted at least 7 calendar days before your service date — have your juror number, pool date, and stand-by number ready. Over 70 exemptions are permanent and only available if you are not currently scheduled for jury duty.

What should I wear, bring, and expect on my date of service?
Wear court-appropriate clothing — business casual is recommended. Shorts, hats, flip-flops, and clothing with offensive wording are not appropriate. Plan to sit for long periods and dress comfortably.
Free Wi-Fi is available in the jury assembly room. You may bring a phone, laptop, or tablet and any chargers you need.
Although rare, jury selection can continue past normal business hours. You may be required to stay until the court authorizes your release, so plan accordingly and bring any personal items (medications, snacks, etc.) you might need during this time.
Where do I park?
Jurors may park in the courthouse complex’s multi-level garage at Derbigny and 3rd Streets. To receive free parking, write your vehicle’s license plate number on your summons and bring it with you — jurors validate parking using the license plate number in the jury assembly room.
Oversized vehicles may park at the rear of the garage facing Dolhonde Street. There are limited spots marked for jurors, and you must place a copy of your summons on the dashboard.
What if I need special accommodations to serve?
If you need an accommodation to serve — such as a sign language interpreter — contact the Jury Commission at jurycomm@jpclerkofcourt.us. Include your contact information so staff can follow up before your service date. Accommodations are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
What if I am called to a courtroom?
When you are sent to a courtroom, be alert, courteous, and honest about your feelings and opinions on issues. The court will instruct you further.
What if I am selected as a juror?
Once you are selected as a juror, you are under the judge’s jurisdiction and control. Simply listen closely to the judge, who will give you instructions and information concerning such matters as (1) anticipated length of the trial, (2) when to report back to the courtroom after a recess, (3) what you are expected to do and not do as a juror, and (4) other matters that the judge feels are relevant to your jury service.
